WATERBLAST hoses – general information

WATERBLAST rubber hoses represent a classic multi-braid (multispiral) rubber hydraulic hose design. However, they are not intended for high pressure oil hydraulics, but applications of water at ultra high pressure of 700 ÷ 1450 bar. The energy of water ejected at high speed from the nozzle of a device is used to process a variety of materials and structures: cutting, crushing, curing, surface cleaning and refurbishment. WATERBLAST hoses are offered as ready-to-use, complete hose assemblies (hoses with fittings). Every hose assembly is pressure tested. The fittings for WATERBLAST hoses are all special hydraulic-type fittings designed strictly for these ultra high pressure hoses.

The main advantages of WATERBLAST hoses are: resistance to abrasion and ultraviolet radiation, momentary operating temperature peaking +100°C. Their main characteristics include:

  • diameter range: from 6 to 25 mm,
  • pressure range: from 0 to 1450 bar,
  • maximum length: 100 m,
  • working temperature range: from -10°C to +70°C (from -40°C to +100°C for a short period),

WATERBLAST hoses are assembled with special fittings available in a wide range of sizes and thread types (metric female threads as standard, optional: BSP, NPT and many other threads).

WATERBLAST hoses are supplied as complete hose assemblies with fittings, tested beforehand. Each hose assembly is hydrostatically tested with 150% of its working pressure and comes with a quality certificate.

General safety guidelines for WATERBLAST hoses

High pressure water is dangerous and can cause death, injury or property damage.
Always use appropriate personal protective equipment, including clothes, goggles, gloves and footwear.
Only properly trained and authorised personnel can use hose assemblies.
The area where hose assemblies are used must be kept clear of bystanders and properly marked.
Never use hose assemblies above their working pressure and below the minimum bend radius.
Always visually inspect hose assemblies before use.
Do not use hose assemblies with corroded, leaking, worn or mechanically damaged fittings. Take them out of service.
Do not use hoses with blisters, cuts or with braid wires showing through. Take them out of service.
Do not use hoses with kinks, dents or damaged either way. Take them out of service.
Do not use hoses that have been exposed to aggressive chemicals or high temperatures. Take them out of service.
When using a hose, avoid kinking, twisting, stretching and contact with sharp edges.
A change of a few percent in hose length under pressure must be taken into account, to avoid excessive stretching.
It is acceptable to connect several sections of the hose using suitable high pressure couplings.
It is not recommended to suspend joined hose sections or to let a hose support its own weight.
Always clean, drain, and coil hoses after use.
